Celebrating Christmas 2024 at The Black Horse

Make your Christmas celebrations extra special this year at The Black Horse Restaurant. 

We have plenty of new Festive Menus and special events throughout the run-up to Christmas to get you in the festive spirit so take a look and join us in making Christmas 2024 extra special. 

Our Christmas Menus

Mark your calendars – as of Thursday 28th of November, we will be launching our brand new Christmas Menus for the festive period. 

We know that the dedication and creativity of our kitchen team will bring the delicious flavours of the season to every mouthful, so whether you are a long-term regular or this is the first time you’ve dined with us, don’t forget to make your booking well in advance to avoid missing out. 

Winter Lunch Menu

The run-up to Christmas offers the perfect opportunity to catch up with loved ones and reconnect with those we haven’t seen for a while, which is why we have put together our Winter Lunch Menu to suit any festive occasion. 

We offer a 2 course Set Lunch for £28.50 or a 3 course Set Lunch for £32.00, offering you and your party the opportunity to sample our personal recommendations. Choose from our Duck Liver Parfait, Cornish Crab & Smoked Mackerel Dish, or Goats Cheese Tart for a delicious starter, and take your pick of our Mains, including Pork Belly, Turkey Crown and Wild Mushroom Bourguignon. 

Alongside our Set Festive Menus we will also continue to offer our Doing Lunch dishes – with a seasonal twist! Whether you opt for our Moules Marinire, Yorkie Wrap, or delicious Festive Salad, this section of our Christmas Menus is perfect for those looking to fill up ahead of a busy afternoon. 

Wondering how you could possibly choose just one of our delicious festive dishes? Let us take the hassle out of your next meetup by opting for one of our popular Sharing Platters. We offer a Fish Platter of Calamari, Whitebait, Smoked Salmon, Prawns, and Cornish Crab & Mackerel Pate, served with warm bread, lemon aioli and a side salad, or a Festive Platter bursting with all the tastes of the season, including familiar favourites like Pigs in Blankets, Turkey Breast and even Smoked Bacon & Garlic Sprouts. 

Winter Evening Menu 

For just £28.50, you and your party can enjoy 2 courses from our new Winter Evening Menu, or add a dessert or starter course for £32 per diner. Whether you start with a warming Soup Starter and enjoy a Pork Belly Main, or opt for a Goats Cheese Tart and our Turkey Crown Main, each dish is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. 

All of our mains come with your choice of Roast Potatoes, Honey Roasted Parsnips or Seasonal Vegetables, and we also offer a range of additional Starters and Mains that are not included in the Set Menu for you to choose from. 

Christmas Eve

To give you plenty of time to fall asleep before Father Christmas arrives we will only be offering our Breakfast and Lunch Christmas Menus on Christmas Eve – but if you fancy a cosy winter drink with friends during the evening, local acoustic guitarist and vocalist Richie Phillips will be performing in our restaurant from 6pm until 9pm. 

Christmas Day Menu

We knew that our Christmas Menus would be popular choices for our regular customers and new diners alike – which is why we are now fully booked for Christmas Day. 

So, if you are looking forward to dining with us on December 25th, take a look at the delicious dishes you and your loved ones will be treated to here. 

Boxing Day Bookings 

Spread the joy of Christmas a little longer and join us this Boxing Day for the perfect post-Christmas meal. On December 26th we will be offering a one-off 3-course lunch for £60 per person, so reserve your table now and give the entire family one last festive celebration to look forward to. 

Please note, the menu for the day is yet to be announced and we will be closed in the evening. 

New Year’s Eve

We are celebrating New Years Eve at The Black Horse with an exclusive private function for our regulars, filled with sparkling celebrations and Meat and Fish Sharing Boards. Due to this private event, we will be closed to the general public on New Year’s Eve, so please join us on New Year’s Day to start 2025 with a delicious meal. 

We will be open on January 1st 2025 for a special 3-course Set Lunch Menu for £55 per diner, before closing in the evening. 

Coming up this Christmas

Here are the exciting events that we will be hosting at The Black Horse in the run-up to Christmas: 

• Our New Heated Outdoor Tent 

Join us at 5pm on Sunday 27th October as we launch our brand-new Heated Outdoor Tent with an evening of music from X Factor finalist Faye Horne. 

Our garden area is the perfect place to enjoy a spot of lunch, have a drink with some friends, and enjoy time outside, so we invite you to stop by and enjoy an evening of drinks and music as we celebrate this newest addition to our outdoor area. 

• Lily & Mabel Christmas Fashion Show 

After the sellout success of our last Lily and Mabel event, the local luxury boutique returns to our restaurant on Thursday 21st November for a special Christmas Fashion Show! Festive Pasta & Prosecco will be served from 7pm, so book your tickets before they sell out as fast as last time. 

• Christmas Lights Switch On

On December 1st we will be switching on our Christmas lights, so book your tickets to join us for a festive evening of lights and music. Local favourite Richie Philips returns to The Black Horse to perform at this special event from 4pm to 7pm, so be sure to get tickets for the whole family!
