At The Black Horse, we’re ready to make your celebrations memorable, cosy, and most importantly, delicious! From the launch of our special menus to starting the New Year off in style, here is your essential Christmas calendar of all the important Christmas dates and opening times.
The Festive Countdown Begins
Thursday, 27th November: Festive Menus Launch!
Our delicious Festive Menus officially launch on the 27th November, and are guaranteed to be filled with seasonal delights, perfect for your family gatherings, friend catch-ups, and office parties. Whether you are planning an intimate festive meal, or a big group celebration, it’s time to start booking those tables before our reservations fill up!
December: Music, Merriment, and Magic
Sunday, 7th December: Christmas Lights Switch-On
What better way is there to kickstart the festive season than to switch on the Christmas lights? Join us for a magical evening as we light up The Black Horse for Christmas! We’ve booked a talented singer to set the festive mood, performing from 4pm to 7pm. Come and soak up the atmosphere – this event is sure to help you feel Christmassy, so add it to your Christmas calendar!
Friday, 19th December: The Official Christmas Party Begins
This is the day most people finish for the Christmas holidays! Celebrate your freedom with colleagues and friends. We’ll have a fantastic singer performing live from 6pm to 9pm to keep the good times rolling. Stay tuned for more news.
Wednesday, 24th December: Christmas Eve
Make Christmas Eve special with us!
- Christmas Eve Breakfast: 10am – 11am
- Christmas Eve Lunch: 12pm – 3:45pm
- Evening Entertainment: We’ll have a singer performing from 6pm – 9pm to ease you into the biggest night of the year.
Thursday, 25th December: Christmas Day
Thank you to everyone who booked! We are now COMPLETELY FULLY BOOKED for Christmas Day. We look forward to celebrating with all our confirmed guests!
Friday, 26th December: Boxing Day
Keep the holiday spirit going without any cooking. Whether you are planning a meal with your loved one after a full-on Christmas day, or meeting up with more family or friends, we are here to serve you breakfast and lunch, before closing for the evening to give our wonderful staff a chance to spend time with their own families.

January: Ringing in the New Year
Wednesday, 31st December: New Year’s Eve
Please note that The Black Horse will be CLOSED DAY AND NIGHT FOR A PRIVATE PARTY. We apologise for any inconvenience!
Thursday, 1st January: New Year’s Day
Start 2026 the right way—with delicious food! We will be open for a special New Year’s Day service from 12pm – 3:45pm. Enjoy a relaxing start to 2026; leave the cooking to us and experience our warm atmosphere and fabulous cuisine.
